ARTIST YOSHIKA

1983年、横浜生まれ。11歳からカナダに1年半、17歳の時にアメリカに2年半の海外在住経験を持つ。帰国後、CM音楽などの活動を始める。アル・クーパーの名曲をカバーした【JOLIE】は2002～03年のSONY Cyber-ShotのTV-CMに起用され2003年2月にYOSHIKAの1st シングルとしてリリースされる。同年11月、8曲入りミニアルバム【STRAIGHT AHEAD】をリリース。2004年11月、m-floの新ヴォーカリストに一躍抜擢され『m-flo loves YOSHIKA』名義でMAXI SINGLE【let go】がavexよりリリースされる。2005年、ATLANTIC JAPAN/WARNER MUSIC JAPANと契約を交わし【Call Me】でメジャーデビュー。2006年1月 、メジャー1stフルアルバム【timeless】をリリース。オリコンチャート初登場20位を記録。同年、自身の結婚、妊娠を転機にメジャーシーンから一線を退くことを決意。出産を経て2008年12月にフルアルバム【World】にて音楽シーンに復帰。2010年1月、アルバム【REDWOOD TREE】を3月にはライヴベストアルバム【I SING -LIVE BEST-】を9月22日にはiTunes限定でミニアルバム【Strongly In Life】をリリース。2013年、イラストレーターの利光春華などのクリエイターとともにARMATELの活動を開始。2015年、SSWとしてのデビュー作といえる、Origami Productionのプロデュースによるフルアルバム【YOSHIKA】をリリース。2018年、ミニアルバム【About a Beautiful Mistake】、2019年、作詞作曲編曲を自身で行ったアルバム【こんな暗闇の中で／In Such Darkness】を立て続けに発表。2021年9月にシングル『Quiet Talk』をリリースする。

Yoshika was born in 1983, Yokohama. She spent her youth in Canada and the United States, After she returned to Japan, she began to sing for advertisement, and in 2003, she recorded a song “Jolie [Original by Al Kooper]” which was picked up for her 1st single and her 1st album “STRAIGHT AHEAD” was released in the same year. They received critical acclaim. In 2004, she collaborated with M-Flo. and leading single “let go” was a big hit. Her major label debut “Call Me” was released In 2005 on Atlantic Records. In the next year, she released her 1st major album “timeless”. After that she announced her marriage and she was expecting, and that she was going to pose her activity for a while. She returned with the release of a new album, “World” in 2008. In 2010, She released “REDWOOD TREE” and “I SING-LIVE BEST-.” She also released an album “Strongly In Life” [iTunes Only.] In 2013, she announced her new project named “ARMATEL” with the illustrator Haruka Toshimitsu and more.In 2015, Her debut album as a singer song writer “YOSHIKA”  was released by the hands of Origami Production. In 2018, Alternative R&B mini album “About a Beautiful Mistake”, in 2019, the album “In Such Darkness” which all written and arranged by herself is released. And the single “Quiet Talk” was released in September 2021.
